This is amazing. I love stories like this.

The transmutation from terror to wonder is not done enough in any genre, either.

Beautiful story! Thank you. Combining the familiar with the unexplainable. I loved it.

I can't express how much I love this story! Remarkably fresh and Bradburian! Exactly the sort of wonder-filled sci-fi I love reading. "In the Gloaming" is the best short story I've read all year.

Beautifully written!

I admit I panicked a bit when he popped back into his reality and the tether was cut. 😬

A surprising and touching subversion of the “knocking on the outside of the spaceship” horror-scifi trope. The dialogue is very strong.

I loved the lines “Sit with me? I saw your ship and I thought, maybe there was someone who could sit with me,” and “for us, it is.” The latter implies so much about this future society without giving too much information. I loved that there was no dead body, and we never really learned what the alien looked like.

I am so glad it resonated with you and I appreciate what you said about the dialogue. I always feel that writing dialogue is my weakest skill.
