Can't wait for "Cycles of Haunting"! My goal for the rest of this year and next is to discover (maybe rediscover) my own writing voice. That will probably mean experimenting a lot. How would you best describe your authorial voice?

I would say that my voice is sometimes poetic. There is often the element of the unexplained that probably won't get fully explained. I find myself continually returning to themes of family and community. I don't really go for lush descriptions. I think my prose can be spare in comparison to some Substack writers like S.E. Reid or Bridget Riley. Setting, in my mind, is a character of its own. I really like tight third person. That means that if the character doesn't know something, then the reader will not know it. This also means I only drop lore and world building as it becomes relevant to the action.

Autumn is the best season. Period. For exactly all the reasons you give. :)
